The week will be jam packed with open houses, barbecues, a skateboard competition, Tune Up Music Night with live performances by local artists ages 13 to 19, arts, sports, and much, much more!
 

Youth Week 2014 – May 1-7

Get your Passport to Awesome (pdf) for a full listing of exciting Oakville Youth Week activities and your chance to win great prizes! Copies are available at all youth and community centres.

Collect stamps for participating in Youth Week events around Oakville for your chance to win great prizes. Get at least five and you can enter the Grand Prize draw for a $300 gift card! The winner will be announced on our Oakville Youth Facebook page.

Attend events with an * for your chance to win a $50 gift card for Oakville Place!

Activities are intended for ages 13-19 (and grades 6-10 at QEPCCC), unless specified.

Open houses at all youth centres – May 1

Join us from 4 to 6 p.m. to see what our youth centres have to offer! Parents welcome.

Discover the Ridge – May 2*

Join us at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre from 7 to 10 p.m. for gym games; crafts in the Youth Lounge; a visiting cartoonist (7-8:30 p.m.); Cheap Eats BBQ (7-9 p.m.); and Beach Party youth swim (9-10 p.m.).

Glen Abbey Community Centre youth events – May 2*

Join us at Glen Abbey Community Centre from 7 to 10 p.m. for a dodgeball tournament with prizes (ages 14-19 only); Cheap Eats BBQ (7-9 p.m.); and a youth swim (9-10 p.m.). Send an email to oakvilleyouth@oakville.ca to register dodgeball teams of 6-8 players.

Skateboard competition and Urban Art Design – May 3

Kinoak Indoor Skateboard Park youth events start at noon. Join us for a skateboard competition (safety equipment required) and — calling all graffiti artists — Urban Art Design workshop!

Tournament Night at QEP Youth Centre – May 3*

Join us from 6 to 9 p.m. for fun and games!

Tune Up Music Night – May 3*

Tune Up is part of Youth Week celebrations and will be held 7-10 p.m. in the QEPCCC Black Box Theatre. See and hear amazing local bands and singers! Free to get in with your Youth Week Passport, or $6 per person. All welcome!

Youth Fair at QEP Youth Centre – May 4*

Join us from 1 to 4 p.m. for a Cheap Eats BBQ, carnival games, music and more!

Drop-in Basketball at Glen Abbey Community Centre – May 5

Ages 11-14 play from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and ages 15-19 play from 8:30 to 10 p.m.

Youth Artz at all youth centres – May 5

Join us at Bronte, Oakville and QEPCCC youth centres for free art activities from 4 to 8 p.m.

Skateboarding – May 6

Join us at Iroquois Ridge, Glen Abbey and Shell Park from 4 to 6 p.m. for outdoor skateboarding.

Outdoor activities – May 6

Join us for outdoor activities at Bronte and QEPCCC youth centres from 4 to 6 p.m.

Youth Week Wrap-up Parties at all Youth Centres – May 7

Join us from 4 to 8 p.m. Don’t forget your stamped passport!
